What is Avalon?

Avalon provides extra stability for fabrics like knitwear and stretchy fabrics. It can be used as a topping or backing to help improve the appearance of embroidery.

What is a Wash Away Stabilizer?

Wash-away stabilizers are designed to dissolve when wet. It comes in two forms: plastic-like film and soluble paper. Both forms can be framed with the fabric.

Fabrics Used On

The Non-Woven Avalon Plus Wash Away Stabilizer is ideal for freehand machine embroidery, dense embroidered appliqué, sheer and transparent fabrics such as silk, organza, net lace, cutwork, thread lace, monogramming, borders, edges, ribbons, darning backing, Richelieu, quilting, textile collages, needle painting and 3D Appliqué.

Also a good choice for darning backing, textile collages, 3-D appliqué, needle painting and freehand machine embroidery.

Directions of Use

After completing the embroidery, tear off the Avalon, brush off any excess or use a damp brush or steam iron. Important: Do not mist spray or leave embroidery wet as this may cause colours to run.

Caution
  • When embroidering directly onto this particular avalon, it’s important that the stitches do not overlap.
  • Do not iron with steam.
